I have a love hate relationship with jumpsuits. They have to fit right everywhere in order for them to work for me. I have tried on some jumpsuits that just do not do it for me. Either they are too long or the top portion too tight or just something doesn’t work. This jumpsuit, though…..it’s magic. I highly recommend a slouchy jumpsuit.

This is our dog, Valerie. She is clearly the star of the show here. This little lady has her own instagram account! @valthekleekai if you want to check her out. She wears the cutest clothes and well she is just precious. Yes, we are one of “those” people that gave their dog an insta account. What of it?

This jumpsuit right here. No no no, THIS jumpsuit right HERE^

But let me tell you about this jumpsuit! I have worn this little guy in more ways than one. Flip flops. not flips flops. flats. loafers. I mean, the list goes on. This leather jacket goes well with it because it gives it a little umph, ya know what I’m saying?! Bringing in a bold lip adds a punch of color and BAM you’re in cool town……i don’t know what that means. We are just going to go with it.

I have been seeking a jumpsuit similar to this but in different colors and I have had no luck. Somebody please save me. Send help. I have tried some at Zara and it was a complete fail. Zara got an F for Freaking useless. Asos is my bestie for things like this but I don’t want one in the same color. Such a first world problem here.

    Printed Maxi Skirt

We spotted a cool wall on our way to our shoot location and just parked (illegally!) and took some quick photographs and I loved how they turned out. The blue brings out the blues in the skirt and I think it makes my hair look darker in a good way. I think.

T shirt (old, similar here) Printed Skirt (nordstrom sold out but love this one) Bag (Louis Vuitton Speedy aka the most basic B*tch bag) Belt (H&M here) (Sunglasses Rayban Here) Jewelry, my own designs.

We found a cute little corridor of plants and houses that looked pretty and decided to shoot there for a little while. The print on this skirt stands out and it only looks like you can wear it with certain tops but it really is versatile.

Side note: I am really loving this type of fence in the background. Super cute!

So my sis in law went out today to take some outfit pictures. We were scouting for some murals and we found a couple of pretty cool ones. I think it is safe to say that I have a thing for maxi skirts and dresses. I wish I could wear them everyday. What I wish more is that they made them in the perfect length for me so that I don’t have to wear gigantic wedges every times. I have so many printed maxi skirts in my closet but they are so long and it’s honestly not practical for me to just prance around in 4 inch platform wedges everyday. ya feel me?

I can totally have the skirts taken in, but who even has time for that? eye roll. Also for the longest time I thought a middle part was not my jam, but I think  I am really digging it here. What do you think? Pretty sure I am going to start doing a middle part more often. Maybe. I don’t know. Maybe…

Anyway, how cool are these murals, guys?! I particularly love the yellow submarine one. It’s a shame you can’t really see it that well, my camera was acting a bit shady so these are the only good pictures I could get. The man with the tie is rad too but the sun was in my face and I was trying really hard not to make a sun face. I was trying to fix the exposure afterward so It looked ok but I don’t know how well they came out? I am not a total pro at photo editing. I am learning as I go.

Shout out to my SIL for taking these fab pictures. I am convincing her to get a website up and running so I can put out a link to her awesome work.

    Casual with a Tweed Skirt

A tweed skirt during summer? (it’s not really summer, but it feels like summer!) It was actually not bad. The fabric was actually not heavy at all and very comfy.

For the longest time I had this blazer and had no idea how to wear it or what to wear it with. I think the universe was trying to tell me not to wear it because it wrinkles with any little movement. I basically have to have it professionally starched so that it may be stiff all the time in order for it not to wrinkle! This is the most annoying wardrobe thing there is. Am I right?!

Me trying to mimic the movement of the tree behind me. I almost had it. My brother’s house has lots of greenery and lush gardens. Perfect backdrop for photos and lolz. The light is great, too.

Blazer (From Aritzia, Similar here), Shirt (Aritzia, Similar here) Skirt (H&M Here), Shoes (Shoemint, remember them?! Similar here) Sunglases (Karen Walker, here)

This weekend was my older brother’s birthday so we went up to orange county to have a good ol’ time! JK it was pretty chill and we just ate and drank and watched baseball. Pretty low key. I brought some outfits because his house is pretty and the time of day was right to take some outfit pictures. Here is a look that I have envisioned wearing for a while. I have worn a similar look to this expect it was with pants, but I was NOT going to wear pants because I want to switch things up around here. I basically live in pants! So a tweed skirt is a perfect alternative to just a regular skirt, you know what I mean?

I think I have said on here before that skirts and I are just now beginning to be in a relationship and it is taking baby steps for us to like one another. I think the skirt has to fit impeccably well and it has to suck up all those places that need to be sucked up (like hips!) and flattering where it needs to be flattering. A tweed skirt is a good alternative to that clingy material that most skirts are made with.

    Fall Look

I am trying really hard to imagine the fall weather here in San Diego. I meeeaaannn. You have to choose whether you want to be chilly in the morning without a sweater or have a sweater in the morning and sweat your booty off in the afternoon. You can’t win! I hate this in between phase. So I made a compromise here. I kind of wore a blouse that can have long sleeves for the morning then roll them up in the afternoon! yay me. The color palette  reminds me somewhat of the fall with the shoes and hat. ya know?
So tomorrow is Back 2 School nite at my son’s school and I kind of don’t know what to expect. I mean, I have never been a mom before. Plus everyone will see that we are not a traditional family and I worry about the looks we will get. On the outside I look like I am tough and that I have a carefree attitude, but really I do have some reservations. This is only because I do not want to see my child getting hurt as a result of someone’s miseducation and lack of knowledge.

Yikes, I do not like to get too deep here. Anyway! Lots of cute things coming that I am super excited about.

I have had this polka-dot skirt in my closet for about a year. Usually I have a donate box with stuff that I haven’t worn in a while. I had high hopes for this polka-dot skirt and it did not disappoint. It all started with a shirt that was too short to wear with pants. The worst. Insert skirt. As you can see, I wore it high wasted and short shirt problems solved. Polka-dots kinda remind me of something juvenile, but you can make it work if you style it the right way. If you work in an office environment, the shoes might not be practical, but you can switch that up with some low heels and then we are back in business. AAAAAaaaand you can also go out for drinks with your girlfriends/boyfriend/husband/person you just have to thrown on a blazer or leather jacket to jazz things up. Boom! Day to night for the girl on the go. OMG the possibilities. YAS. On another note…..

The weather here in San Diego has been bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. It’s like it’s on it’s period. I seriously am so ready to wear my hideous ugg boots and hide in my sweatpants. Cuz that is socially acceptable when it’s cold. Don’t judge. This is a safe space. We can all be honest here. We can admit that we wear sweatpants to bed then to the grocery store. Oh, you don’t do that? It’s cool…I was just giving examples…..

Soooo, whats up? How have you been? Me? I’m just here living my best life. Taking care of my baby boy. Enjoying this nice San Diego weather. Eating the good food. Ahem, let’s not talk about that. Everything is all sunshine and rainbows. yayness!

Ok, let’s keep it one-hundo. I’ve had a lack of motivation on this side of the Americas. But I am back and with more outfits than ever!!!!! yeah baby, yeah.

My photog has to brush up on her skills so that’s why I only have two pictures. So there’s that. And my legs look like I am two feet tall. I just need to be stick thin in order for my legs to be on point. You feel me? I need to be doing yoga two times a day. Running up some hills. Eating a cube of cheese as my sole source of sustenance. Crimony, once you turn a certain age…..things just don’t. That’s it, they just don’t.

uuuuhhh why can’t things be perfect. JK,, who wants to be perfect. That’s boring.

Check out my statement shoe. Yellow high top converse. It’s kind of my thing. The color yellow in general has become a sentimental color for many reasons. It’s a family thing. Yellow high tops FTW.

    Blanket Scarf

    oops, blurry!

Scarf(sold out from asos, similar here), Sweater (similar), Skirt(here), Boots(here), Socks(similar), Tights (similar)

I love me a good blanket scarf. This one in particular is warm. Like replace your coat warm. Um, perhaps not THAT warm but pretty up there in the warmth scale.

I’ve always wanted to be one of those girls that wear skirts and tights and cute things but lets me honest….I’m just not. I am more of a jeans and button up kind of lady. Throw on a blanket scarf and I am out of the door! ya feel me??

But now I have an excuse to wear things like this! Yay for blogs. I have an a perfectly good reason to buy skirts and dresses and other things. Right? RIGHT?!

Staying cozy warm in this blankety blanket scarf is my jam right now.

Here we are again in the snow. This time with some warm neutral tones. I love me a warm neutral. Or anything warm. Or the sun. Being warm. I like that too. Snow is cool…for, like, a day. Then nobody likes you, so go away. Driving in snow is the worst! Have you ever done that? Have you ever done that without 4 wheel drive? or all wheel drive or whatever it is? Oh you haven’t? k, well I have. It’s not fun. Seeing cars in ditches is the norm here. It’s just a regular Tuesday. NBD. I have an appropriate vehicle now. So I can somewhat drive better in the snow. So there’s a plus.

So because of this snow, I am forced to wear one million layers. But that will not stop me from looking okayish. All that I am wearing I have had for 6 months or more! I like to buy things that will last me a really long time versus things that are super “on trend” and will last me a few weeks. Except the shoes. These I just got a few days ago. I love these because they are in a neutral color (not a warm neutral, more of a cool neutral). These will last a few years or more because we will be moving soon so this snow…..will not be relevant to our lives! ha! take that mother nature! J/K I will be reusing them in the coming years because we move a lot. So yea. woe is me.

See you later with another snowy post!

    Oh, Winter White

White Overalls (Similar here), Jacket (old, similar), Sweater (old, similar), Scarf (old, similar), Beanie(old, similar), Gloves(old, similar), Boots, Rag&Bone Kinsey Bootie, Sunglasses (here)

Oh snow, perfect excuse to wear winter white!

It is hard to stay warm and stay fashionable here in good ol’ Illinois. First, you must have a base layer. By this I mean you must have at least some pair of tightness underneath what you will be wearing. Here I clearly do not. I am wearing white overalls with holes in them! This is a no no in my book. Luckily we were only outside for….not that long so it was tolerable and really not that cold. Now, if it was negative something outside I would not even be outside! After you have a solid pair of tights underneath, you must double sock! Not pictured here are my two pairs of socks that I was wearing. Oh boy, this is a must. If you are a newbie to the cold like I was then you have to, have to, have to double sock it!

This might seems ridiculous or even cumbersome and it is but it will make a difference in how you feel in the cold. Meaning, you will not feel the cold penetrating your extremities. Now that you have your bottom half covered, let’s move on to the top! Here I have a tank plus a light sweater that you cannot see. Over that I have a quilted sweater pictured and that is pretty toasty. I obviously wore some white denim over that so I was pretty warm. Now, here I have a gigantic maroon colored blanket scarf that is basically the best thing ever, it is very warm. 10/10 recommend. Over THAT I have an extremely warm and extremely toasty leather jacket type of thing that is lined with warm and fuzzies.

Yea these holes on the white overalls did not stand a chance. Then the beanie was the icing on the snowy cake. Perfection. Oh, yes and gloves. Gloves are pretty important. Covering your extremities in the chilliness is somehow crucial if you do not want to have frozen fingers or toes. Yep, so there it is my mini “how to survive the winter” if you are a newbie that has never experienced this kind of arctic sorcery in your life.

So basically if you have all that I just mentioned you should be able to wear whatever you want, even if it’s a pair of winter white overalls that are clearly meant for the summer. I’m a rule breaker. I break the rules. I found it appropriate to wear winter white because snow. I wear (winter) white after labor day.  White overalls to make it even more cringey!

    Whats In My Bag?

whatsinmybag whatsinmybag whatsinmybag whatsinmybag whatsinmybag whatsinmybag whatsinmybag

I have always loved to watch “Whats in my bag” videos on YouTube. I do believe I have a Whats in my bag video up on my YouTube Channel. Though it is with a different bag and with very different contents. Much different. Throughout the years I have found that I do not, in fact, need to carry such and such item JUST in case I need it. Here are just some essentials that are a must for a quick trip or a not so quick trip. The rest of the items that I may or may not need are in the center console of my car because, let’s be honest, wherever you are you just need to make a quick trip to your car for gum or charge your phone really quick or apply hand lotion if you absolutely must. ya feel me?

    The Bag

I got this bag on a whim. I do not plan to get it for months and months. It is the Givenchy Antigona Mini. It has the long strap so you can wear it cross body if you so wish. Which is what I do because I just absolutely cannot be bothered with having a HANDbag and carrying it my HAND. What is that nonsense?! Don’t they know I have things to do and stuff to carry on both hands?

    Lip Products

Alright, I really don’t need all of the pictured products. I really only need the lip balm and one lipstick and gloss. Which ever it may be that day. This is just an example of what is carried for that day. I am particularly enamored with the Tsum Tsum lip smacker lip balms. They are moisturizing and really easy to find in the black hole that is my bag. So, win win. The Chanel balm is so-so it is visually appealing but I do not think it is worth the price tag. 10/10 would not buy again. Also, I finally caved and bough the Kat Von D lolita liquid lipstick….I love the color but the staying power is not the best. I have heard that this new formula is not like the first batch. so there’s that.

    Essentials

I do keep my keys in there. Because I do drive places. My car is one of those where I can push to start and I don’t actually have to push any buttons on the key to open the car I just have to be near it. So that’s nice. So my keys just stay in my purse forever and ever period the end. My sunglasses are in there. Whatever the flavor of the day is. Today was the Ray Ban Aviators. I do also keep a pair in my car because  I need options. Don’t you? I keep my Sony camera in my purse for instagram outfit posts. It’s a nice camera because it has the wireless picture transfer to my phone. So I can have nicer pictures on my instagram feed. I also keep some Tsum Tsum minis in there. What? you don’t? whats wrong with you? my favorite is cinderella. or mini mouse. Olaf is a close second. Perry is in last place…sorry buddy!

    Wallets, Etc.

I have not carried a large wallet in years. Although I do need one and I do have my eye on one in particular which I will reveal when the time comes. Currently I use the Louis Vuitton Key Pouch which they do not make any more in that color. It has served its purpose but it is overstuffed and I need a bigger wallet. help. I use a cute pink Prada card holder for loose change. Also my phone is in my bag and is it just me or does my phone case remind you of hunting camo instead of marble?!? because it is supposed to be marble….hmmm. I do keep a travel sized Maison Francis Kurkdijan in Aqua Universalis. If you ever get a chance to smell this fragrance, please do. It is unlike any scent I have ever smelled. So good.
